I was disappointed, talking about iconic Rolex, you don't talk about submariner.... then i looked better at the title!!

To me iconic is the one that a normal person (not-wiz) would spot a watch from distance and say "Isnt that a Rolex?"
I would say the answer to the above depends on where you live. In North America it has to be Submariner or close resemblence to it (GMT pepsi/coke) |

It's easily the Datejust, even if you include the sub and pepsi, but I just think that the classic GMT deserves to be the icon.

Yes i think it has to be the DJ followed by the Sub and the GMT, in that order.

I think that the Rolex DateJust should be first as iconic Rolex, followed by Rolex Sub Date.

One vote here for the Daytona! However, all Rolex models are iconic in my opinion.

You should be a political pollster. By answering this question, I have to admit that the sub and pepsi are more iconic than the original and still classic oyster date, oyster perpetual, datejust, oyster day-date that were around in their basic form for a half century prior to the "classic" subs and pepsi's!
Therfore, my answer is.............They're ALL classics |

I voted for the Explorer. Its 'iconic' by the fact that it was the first wrist watch to get to the top of Mt. Everest.

I voted for the Datejust. It was the one watch I remember was on the wrists of the silverback males in my family even though in my youth I didn't know what Rolex watches were or what they meant and stood for. That's just my belief, of course.

So ... 89 votes for the DJ VS 52 for the Daytona. Very interesting.

I would have guessed the DJ is the most iconic, not the Sub or GMT. Most non-WIS would readily identify the DJ as a Rolex.

Agree with the others the poll "does not compute" since those watches listed are not the most iconic, and the options listed are certainly not behind the ones suggested in the question.

No question it's the DJ. If you have any doubt just watch any sporting event on TV sponsored by Rolex. Giant DJ's everywhere.
