Explorer 2 bezel scratches
Hi guys,
Have anyone had their Exp 2 bezels polished to get scratches out? Mine has a lot of small micro scratches, that can't be seen at normal use, but of course shows well up under closer inspection... It's no biggie, but would love to see more of that sun-burst-effect polished bezel.

It;s that sunburst affect that makes it so hard to refinish the Explorer II bezel.. Generally Rolex replaces them on a service if they are too beat up..
If you are talented, then one of the many fiber brushes on the market can be used to re-align the grain...but if you mess it up, it can get pretty ugly..

Unless it's VINTAGE...
I say roll with it. Those scratches are CHARACTER. I understand if you put a big scratch in the CRYSTAL.... But otherwise I wouldn't sweat it. If it bothers you so much you can't stand it you can replace it... I could never be gentle with my toys so....that's why I wear a submariner. If it isn't a little scratched up it just looks weird... -db |

Thanks Tools.
I hear you Daddybear! My DSSD isn't getting away from scratches. However, the thing is (I guess) that my DSSD is a watch I bought new, the Explorer 2 was used, so I don't like other peoples scratches in it... If I was to replace the bezel... How much would it be?

My Explorer II has the 'character' scratches the previous owner put, and I'm looking forward to the service as well when I plan to have the bezel swapped. I believe it should cost in the vicinity of $200.
