It's going to look pretty sweet. Do you have someone you trust to put it together and service it from now on?

That combination will look excellent.

Small fingers needed to fit those mini hands.

Mark,
I can't wait to see the final product. Very resouceful, you and Thomas. This could lead to other possibilities! What other ideas do you have?

Thanks for your kind words, Perry.
Thomas was fantastic in helping with this.
I like the qualities of the SS Daytona but I prefer the dials in the WG models.
As much as I like the WG Daytonas, I am more comfortable wearing watches that are not so expensive.
I think my "remodeled" Daytona will be the best of both worlds.
Of course, I will stash the original dial and hand set in case I need to make it original again.
Future ideas...who knows...it depends upon finding parts that are not available in the USA.

I know you'll think of something, Mark. Looking forward to the next "remodel"... and I agree that you picked the best of both worlds while maintaining the original integrity of the watch.

Id love to find a source for that dial...I love the dial but see no value in getting a WG daytona just for the dial...im ok with the Franken Daytona in this case...

I will visit a Rolex AD on Thursday with a Rolex certified watchmaker but I was told by the AD salesman that thier watchmaker will not install the WG dial in my SS Daytona.
My "regular" watchmaker agreed to change the dials for me. I will give my Daytona to him on Friday at the Dearborn WWT show. Hopefully, it will be ready for our "show and tell" session at the Columbus, Ohio TRF GTG on 09/18.

Ahem... Well, I am one of those staunch advocates for not messing with the standard Rolex features, although I totally agree with you, it is a much better looking dial and I wish Rolex would offer more options with thier SS HOWEVER, Mark, it is your watch and you do whatever makes you happy. I'm glad everything worked out for you and just like everyone else on here, can't wait to see the pictures!!!

P.S. (You have an 116520, not 16520 Zenith)

My typo, Paul, you are correct. The "donor" watch is a D series 116520 with Rolex movement.
I would not "remodel" a Zenith Daytona nor do I think they made WG dials for them.
