Also, on an Omega forum, I found that they test Omegas with magnetism tests for a full minutes by three different axis. Afterwards, they say that it is able to withstand magnetism for 30 seconds for the mens watchs, and 45 for the ladies (or at least those are the specs they are supposed to be rated for). I have to assume it's similar for Rolex. Getting a watch magnetized is easy enough (you'll likely never find the source), but as it says in the article above, it's a very easy fix.
