IWC Pilot Chrono Top Gun queries

Hi All,

I'm looking at one and could not find much information about it. Can anyone tell me what is the lug width for the Pilot Top gun?

Also, on the caseback with the 'Top Gun' insignia..will the colour run or wear off after some time? How is it imprinted on the case back?

See borrowed pics from google below for reference:

Let us wait for the IWC experts but I believe its at 22mm at its lugs and 18mm at its buckle.

My 3717 though has 21mm lugs but also 18mm at its buckle.

Cheers

It is 21mm.

By the way, there is a Top Gun logo on the case (on pusher side). All those logos makes the watch look like a NASCAR rig IMO. A shame really.

It's abit tacky but I like it!

The overall stealthy look and the "multi date" display appeals to me most.

I like the TG a lot.... I tried it on but it was out of my price range for a non-Rolex, non-Panerai, non-AP watch.

I don't doubt I might get it in the future.... it was beautiful.

I own a 3789 so regarding the info you need
1)Lug width is 21mm
2)The logo on the case back is acctually on a sticker that does not wear off,so no worries there
3)Movement is based on ETA 7750 (IWC calls it 79320) heavily modified by IWC to match COSC specs, my watch runs perfectly on +3 secs/day
4)Case back, pushers, buckle and crown are made from Ti
The watch is a beauty i can tell you that, i agree with ya on the stealty look and if you like heavy dial watches then this is the one for ya!!!
BTW IWC has ceased the production of this model and launched the 3799 TG double chrono. Also the strap comes in three sizes so make sure you get the right one for your wrist.
Hope i helped, feel free to ask for more info on this

Oh...and the best part is that since the case is made of ceramic any kind of scratches made on it can be easily erased using a rubber eraser!!!
Ceramic material is a very durable and hard (diamond like) material that cannot be scratched.
The bad thing though is that if the case falls and lands on the wrong angle it may be easily
break since ceramic cases can break unlike SS cases.

There were also two limited edition models made in ceramic prior to the Top Gun models. These have no such insignia.

There was the Dopplechrono made for Carlson 3799-04. And also one for Zegg and Cerllati (sp?). That one was a single chrono in ceramic. Both these were made in runs of 50 and still fetch a good price (~10k) when they do come up.
