Advice sought: ~1975 Oyster 1002

I am a complete newbie - looking to buy a gift for my fiance. The smooth bezel SS Oyster seems to be a classic style he will appreciate. I have been all over the forums, looking for this type of watch and I am not seeing it at all. Only seeing it on ebay.

Is it just not considered a "special" enough watch to be called out on the forums? or is it not as popular?

I'm hesitant to purchase on ebay, though the seller has high sales and feedback, with a 1 year warranty and 3 day "satisfaction guarantee" return policy. Just don't know enough to not get scammed.

Would love some advice/feedback from you experts - regarding the watch itself, best places to purchase, etc.

Thanks for any responses!

Hi! Im also new here, but I have some experience collection other watches. I would recommend to stay away from ebay unless you really know what your buying. If you post some pictures of the watch the experts here might be able to tell you if its real or not :) whats your budget? have you considered other models like the explorer I, or the airking? both classic tool watches with smooth bezel and ss construction. anyway best of luck! Hope you find what you're looking for :)

This is my explorer, is this the look you're looking for?

Malinda, I would suggest that you contact one of the sellers here on the forum. That way you can't go wrong!
