Like others here on the forum I check out Rolex items on Ebay. But when it comes to these anchors, the prices that I see that sellers are getting for them just amazes me. It seems that the 200m ones are bringing the big money. I know that collector interest generates the prices, but from what I have read here, there is no certainty that they are even legit! I would think that the only real ones are the ones that came with the watch and I can't really see those owners parting with them.

The ones I like are the ones with two ruby stones in them.

Realistically, it's hard for me to imagine somebody counterfeiting a trinket for twenty bucks, which is pretty much what the silver metal ones go for, but it's possible I guess.

The 200m, 18K ones that go for $500, now that might draw the eye of a counterfeiting slimeball.

Dang, that's a lot of cash! Yet, except for the rope it doesn't look any different than mine which I only paid a few dollars for.

You only paid a few dollars for a 100m/330ft anchor?

And yes, the rope paradoxically is worth a crap ton of money. Few people seemed to have kept them with the anchor......

Stuff like this is always worth what someone is willing to pay for it. The first run of the anchors from the 50's/60's are likely to be collectable but i can't see the ones which came with every sub/SD fetching quite so much.

I'll try to find a photo someone sent me of his collection of anchors, like 150 of them, I have that saved somewhere....
