Finally saw the new Explorer I today

An AD here in town literally just got 2 new Explorer's in today not long before I came in. They hadn't even cataloged them into inventory yet and I got to check one out. I think Rolex got the size right and despite what many have said, I think in person the hands look fine. The watch hands don't look as out of proportion as the photos make them seem. However, what I am on the fence about are the 3, 6, 9 being so shiny. Not sure if I am really digging that. The watch also seems bigger than 39mm which is great for me and people with bigger wrists. I would consider buying the new Explorer if I can get over the shiny numbers. They were also selling the watch for $5,200 which I think is a little cheaper than the $5,400 - $5,600 I thought it was supposed to be retailing for.

good to hear an opinion from someone who has actually seen it! Far too many negative comments on TRF from people who havent seen it in person.

When I saw the new Explorer 1 in person I was very impressed, the hands look fine and the classic look of the face nicely balanced.
