Can’t decided which watch to sell - Need help
OK, so I am thinking about of selling one or more of the watches in my collection. I’m having a hard time deciding which one or two will go.
Here is in my collection: 1) Red Submariner 1680 (374xxxx) 2) White Submariner 1680 Project (393xxxx) 3) Submariner 16610 (Y-series) 4) GMT Master II 16710 (P-series) 5) Tudor Chronograph 79170 Big Block (B-series) Thoughts so far: 1) Red Submariner 1680 - I know for sure I will keep this watch. It is from my birth year and it is the one I wear the most. 2) White Submariner 1680 Project - I can’t decide if I should sell the parts or finish the project. The parts are good as spares for my Red but it is a shame to have so much money tied up in this project. I need to look at the market to see if it is really worth putting more money into this or not. This watch has a serial number that falls inside of the Red range so will it hold its value? 3) Submariner 16610 - The first Rolex I ever purchased. This watch gets a lot of wrist time. This is also my Bar-B-Q watch. The count down bezel helps with the stakes. 4) GMT Master II 16710 - My most versatile watch with 3 different bezels and 2 bracelets. I use this more when I travel but less when I stay in the States. I could keep this and sell the Submariner 16610 as they are very similar to each other. 5) Tudor Chronograph 79170 – This is a fantastic watch but it never gets any wrist time. It’s in great condition and has an amazing set of paper work. I have a hard time wearing it as I’m worried about it getting scratched. I haven’t figured out what will be my next Rolex. Up till this point my current collection had all my bases covered. I don’t have any interest in 2-tone watches or a Daytona. Solid gold is interesting but looks awful on my skin tone. At this point I’m considering: a) GMT 1675 (3.5mil – 3.7mil) b) Sub 5512/5513 c) Money in the bank d) ??? I’m interested in other TRF member's opinions.

I say sell the Tudor for sure, the other watch I'd sell would be the sub, but it's also your first watch, which makes it harder to sell :/

My :
Sell the Tudor. I would imagine that at some point in the future you just might regret having sold a Rolex. And for God's sake: Do not *ever* sell your first Rolex! The only way to part with "the first" is to hand it down/on as a gift, imo. :) |

I would sell my body for prostitution before I would sell the Rolex Red Sub
Submariner!!! I know that much. I would sell the Tudor and the 1680 white out of those. Good luck in your decision. Keep the Red Sub!!! |

Sell the 16610. You have 3 Subs, and can easily get another 16610. The 16710 could take over the routine wear role of the 16610.

I’m leaning towards selling the White 1680 and picking up a GMT 1675.
The Tudor can be second on the list to go after that. The question is do I put more into the 1680 to get it ready to sell or sell it as is? This project needs: crown, tube, and bezel assembly with out the insert.
