need advice on service

Hey guys,
I bought a 1601 Datejust circa 1975. The previous owner tells me that it was serviced at RSC in 2002 or 2004 and put in his safe and just hand wound once or twice a month. It runs dead-on accurate. Should I service it again now or wait since it is running fine and there has not been much wear since it was last serviced? Thanks for your opinions.

If it is running fine I would not service it. You can take it to an AD and they can test it to make sure. You can have the watch maker pop it open and take a look inside as well.

My AD will do this for free but some might charge a nominal fee.
