Well, I have a tracking # now, and I know it went out on the 15th. Too bad it's USPS... I don't think I'll have much visibility into the delivery details.

The good news...
The bad news... Sadly, it would appear that the position the watch shipped in created the dark scratches in the bracelet. They are darker in real life than my pictures indicate. The last picture shows some white lint that's inside the crystal. Waiting to hear from Bill - I'm sure he'll make it right. I am really enjoying the watch, it's a beautiful piece. |

I finally spoke to Bill last night. He seems really swamped - I am glad I continued to call as he said it would have taken him days just to get to my email from the end of July.
Long story short, I'll be sending the watch in and they'll tear it down to get at the lint, and he'll correct the link abrasions. He did say something that cleared up a question I had which was that the Swiss watches have more of an issue with the lint inside. I had been wondering what would be better, a Swiss assembled watch, or one by the Mk II custom shop. I guess now we know... :) |

Yeah, I really love this watch. I have been wearing it since speaking with Bill, but I have to drop it in the mail this week. I really really like it, but after not wearing the Rolex for a week or so I was struck by the differences when I put it on yesterday. Nothing wrong with the MkII, but the Rolex really is in a different league. I think it's probably the solid bracelet on my GMT-IIc that contributes most to the feel, but it feels a lot "smoother" on the wrist and it sits more squarely.
Anyway, I really like the Vantage. I think all the photos I have seen don't show how three-dimensional the watch is. Generally, the photos I have seen make it look rather flat. I have attempted to capture what I think it looks like. Nothing special about the photos, just some quick snaps. |

They do have some nice looking watches but I kick myself because they just had a limited run called the Kingston and it was an homage to the 5508 James Bond Sub and was very cool looking. but I was too late to the party.
