Sub for sure. I have an orange monster and a (limited edition) blue monster. I used to wear them ALL. THE. TIME.

Then, after getting into Panerai & Rolex, they get veryvery little wrist time. I always thought I'd use the monsters as everyday beater watches, but that has not come to fruition. Somewhere along the line, I realized that I do, truly, only live once. Ergo, I wear my nicest watches all the time, even during times where I should be wearing a "daily beater".

Kinda wondering what you expected the response to your question to be, given that you are posting it on TRF??

Isn't Fuerteventura duty free? If so don't take any and buy one when you get there for a good discount.
That's exactly what I did in 2000 when I bought my first Breitling on the Canarian Island during my two week holidays.
Great discount and tax and duty free.

Explorer II or GMT if you have one - the ideal travel watch. Of course, if you're diving, the Sub becomes a good choice. Really, unless you're going somewhere you will have a high likelihood of getting mugged, wear the watch you like the best. You're on TRF so that has to be your Sub.

Have fun.

Hej Erik! Det är Spanien vi talar om... kör på SD!

Just make sure you're covered by your insurance. Then enjoy. You want to look back on your life and your watch and say "This watch has been with me everywhere, diving in Fuerteventura... etc"

If you want a watch to pamper you shouldn't have bought a SD! :-)

Never thought about this this way. PSV is absolutely right. Wearing it will add to it's history.

I only choose to not travel with my GMT if I'm going somewhere where I don't want to attract any more attention or if I know I can totally destroy it (all work-related). I'm right now missing my GMT more than I anticipated. Can't wait to get home just to slap it on.

Take the sub. Hands down.

And one more thing! The only time I wear my Seiko is... well... never now. I usually deploy with a Casio (have my Pathfinder 1500-7V on right now), wear my Coach only if I am wearing gold cufflinks or a golden Montblanc pen and wear my Movado only if my GMT won't fit under the shirt cuff!!

The Seiko black monster is an outstanding watch with great lume. If your going to be out and about at night in the dark, you might decide on that one. Also, if it gets lost in the lake for any reason, it is surely more affordable to replace than the Rolex.

Hope you have a fun time.
