My Class ring has long been melted down! Helped fund my first Rolex. Actually, we were at the jewelers selling old gold. When they were getting ready to write us the check, I made a comment about the funds being used for my first Rolex.
Well, they brought out two pre owned models, a tt bluesy sub and a tt serti sub with slate dial. Wife liked the serti dial, said you don't see it much and we left with it on my wrist. Still can't believe getting my first Rolex was that easy.I was not even in watch shopping mode as the Mrs had made it clear that a Rolex was in my future but to wait a year. She must really love me!

Interesting thread. I wonder how common university class rings are these days?
It seems like people who went to the Naval Academy or Military Academy have them but aside from that I don't have a good sense of whether most people get rings. |

They were popular in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. Not anymore!
I don't even know where mine is. I probably left it a bar or who knows where.

I graduated college 2 years ago and some people did order class rings. I didn't, I'd rather put the money towards more watches!

The class ring is still an important tradition at UVA.
My medical school class ring. I wear it when I get dressed up.
