EXACTLY! It would feel to me that I was trying to pass something off as something that it is not (ie: WG). As far as I am concerned, it would be a FAKE watch by definition, even though all parts are genuine. Do not do it!!

I personally like the weight of all gold Daytona, plus size of case slightly larger than SS Daytona. I would purchase WG Daytona if you can afford it.

I hope that someone for Rolex HQ will read the results of this poll and will stop the stupid restrictions about changing the dials with other dials, which are not on the default configuration that a watch is produced from the Factory.
If i had a friend with any kind of WG Daytona, i would go to the RSC (like it was mine) i would change the dial to my favourite panda dial and off to my watchmaker to take off the dial from the WG watch, put his dial back in and then installed it in my SS version....piece of cake........ the problem is that i don't have a friend who owns a WG Daytona |

I think its a great modification to make. Just keep the original if you ever need or want to go back.

My Rolex certified watchmaker will change it back to the original dial upon request. Of course, then I need to decide which set of hands, red or silver, to use. |

What happens when they service the watch? Would they service the watch, or keep it? I suppose it wouldn't be a counterfeit. I have heard they often keep aftermarket changes and exchange those parts for the originals, and charge the owner, or just keep the watch. A dealer is supposed to keep a counterfeit if they see one. Of course, few dealers would actually do that. Imagine what a customer would do if they believed the watch to be a real Rolex.

I don't see anything wrong with this... but then I'm a little biased.

I voted no but
there really wasn't an appropriate choice for me. I have no problem with someone changing the dial but I am quite happy with mine as is.

Yes, it is a much more interesting dial with the Arabics. However, they are not cheap at approximately $2K if you can find one.
For the cost of the dial and the used SS Daytona, you are $6K away from owning a used gold Daytona. So $11K is not too far off from $17K...... it is understood that either one is a lot of money.
