Sea Dweller 1980?

Or, should I say seadwellers. I have 2 of these that are about 3 years apart from each other. They are the 2000 ft 610 meter models. I would say that they are in very good condition. Always been serviced by Rolex. Ive been trying to get info on these and all I could come up with is the years that they were made.
I get it at between 1977 to 1981. Also I take it that the the model number is 1665? One has the patina look on the dial and the other is nice and white. The one that has not discolored is older. Any info on these will be a big help to me. There is no RED on these watches I used to wear them but got a 1500 model that was beat up and sent it to New York back in 1981 and have been wearing it since.
Thanks!
Dave

I have to do some reading on how to upload. I am now just learning about these that I took for granted all these years. And there is a story how I wound up with 2. I understand that this model is commanding high prices?

In the near future I will be putting them on the market. But I want to be absolutely sure that the 1665 on the left in the picture is indeed a great white. All is correct with the info I have received in this thread. I didnt know about the great white until a few day's ago. I wondered why one would have a yellow look on the dial and the other didnt. Both were purchased new by me in the early 80's. So if anybody knows if the Great White dial will patina a little over the years please let me know. The white has my name engraved on the back and there is a story about that.

Happy New Year!

Yes Dave, Patina is to be expected....Why some watches Patina more then others is a question still up for debate.....

Here's my 5.3 mil 1665 from 1977.....Very little patina.....

Both of them look to have patina, but the one on the right has a little more. Some people like the look, personally I do. Great pair!
