JLC, UN or PF

Hi,

I am looking for a diver watch within usd 15K ++, but I am not into diving and best is without chronograph.

Which is of a better value - JLC, Ulysse Nardin & Parmigiani?

Thks.

I'd get a nice JLC or a GO at that pricerange. It depends on how far above 15k you're willing to go though. Once you approach 30K I'd go for a Lange, and once you hit
18-20k or so I'd consider an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph.

In short, there are so many amazing watches in that pricerange that nobody can decide for you.

JLC or GO for sure.
ULN are beautiful and great watches but I really think their specialty is more high end dress watches, their dive watches just have been a let down to me and I have owned and sold two. Not a thing wrong with them just did not feel they were a good value.

Thanks a lot but what is GO?

For JLC, I quite like their Diver Navy Seal - 183T470 & 2018470. But, am not sure if these are easily available. I may settle for their Master Compressor GMT, Geographic or Extreme Alarm. But, I know that I need to had a Maxi Dial. For their GMT, the previous model is better looking, not as rigid as having two small circle on position 12 & 6.

Both Parmigiani Pershing F002 and UN Maxi Marine Chronograph are not bad looking. If JLC Navy Seal Diver come without Navy Seal, my choice is easily decide.

For me, I do not look at price, not meaning that I had a money-printing machine.
But I prefer to look beauty, function and lasting appear.
Only by then, I won't had second thought.

Pardon me but "kenapa harus diver watch ?"
If you are relentless on diving watch I would go for the jlc master compressor with alarm (1778170).

GO - Glashutte Original. And I agree 100% - Glashutte of JLC should be your choices.

No interest at all in Parmigiani Pershing! Sorry I think you would be MUCH better off with JLC or GO.

Even look at the AP ROO diver perhaps.

Of the three brands listed in the opening post, JLC for sure. Go with one of the Master Compressors. Glasshute as suggested by others would also be a great choice. The new AP ROO Diver is a lovely and simple, true diving watch too.

glashutte original sport evo is a great sports peice...looks very beautiful on its unique red and black cross stitched strap...and very few divers out there compete with a JLC diver...I am just not a fan of JLC chrono and new GMT divers..a simple new limited edition SEALs model with no complicarion or an alarm version are outstanding...in that price range though, I'd sure look at Blancpain (BP) Fifty Fathoms (FF) for its beauty and legacy...also comes in quiet a stunning chrono (whereas I generally do not like chrono divers, this one looks too neat ) the BP FF also comes in all black version and bracelet for a regular model and also full gold for chrono as well as simple model, so lots to choose from...do check that out...and lastly, if not hardcore diver is needed, a Breguet Marine on its amazing blue rubber strap is in a class of its own do check these out...you wont be disappointed with any of the suggested models.

p.s. in the UN models, I'd sure go for a two sub-dial chrono in a dressy diver, the marine chronograph...now THAT is classy

I make a check again, I prefer a simple diver steel bracelet watch without chronograph.
I find having chronograph too complicate and seem to serve little purpose.

I quite like the following:
a) JLC Navy Seal - 2018470 or 183T470 (not sure if steel bracelet are available)
b) Blancpain FF - Fathom Diver or Fathom (not sure if the Fathom Diver Maxi Dial is nice? Seem to look cramped)
c) Breguet Marine II Automatic
d) GO Sport Evo
e) Parmigiani Pershing 002

Are Alain Silberstein & Parmigiani worth buying?

You see....I looking for something different or just simplicity.
At the same time, I do not mind red or colorful color dial.

Lastly, sorry but I do not like AP ROO.
The design is rather bulky on my small waist.
You can see my waist in a 39mm Rolex Explorer.

Thanks all.

If you find a 39 mm a bit big on your wrist and a ROO
too big all of the names you mention are going to be big.

As for Alain Silberstein & Parmigiani, HORRID resale value.

You really need to visit a couple dealers and try the various watches that interest you on.

Out of your updated list, everything but the Marine will look silly on your wrist.

I've got the JLC Master Compressor Navy Seals Alarm, I'd recommend that. Otherwise you may want to take a look at the Patek Philippe diver as well.

seriously sir, in all honesty, I think you should really try all of these out cuz most of the above list has watches following the current trends of watch sizes...the BP FF in its 45mm, the JLC Compressor alarm is something like 42mm or 43mmand so on...so I think you should consider the following:

1). BP FF limited series version (discontinued now) made somewhere in the early part of the current decade, that shared the same design elements in a more conservative case.

2). the Breguet Marine, NOTHING like it in the world, IMHO.

3). the GO Sport M, its I think the 39mm version and comes in brown and white and other more funky colors than the typical black of purpose made divers.

4). please add a used Patek Aquanaut to the list,,not the best of Patek in many people's opinion, but surely AWESOME in my opinion...would suite your size and taste well...also has a bracelet.

5). also look at Vacheron Constantine's (VC) Overseas line...some AWESOME choices in the kind of things you are looking for.

IMHO, stay away from Parmigiani Pershing...Alain Silbersteins look nice to me (atleast some models are vibrant and attractive and I also apreciate a splash of color at times) but as already mentioned, wont be a good resale item...may be buy used but only if you REALLY like it.cuz you have so many amazing options from such well respected horological houses, that even thinking of these in the same vein sends shivers down my spine :) (just my very frank opinion in your best interest)

JLC -- one of the elite manufacturers of movements who also happen to make great dive watches. And -- a good value to boot.

JLC Diving Alarm Navy Seal all the way for me too...on articulated rubber bracelet. If you really want to step it up a notch, you can opt for the JLC Diving Pro Geographic Navy Seal with their patented mechanical depth guage in either Titanium or 18k Pink Rose Gold.

Glashutte Original Sport Evolution Panoramadatum is also a very nice piece on a bracelet. Their bracelet has the micro adjustment similar to the slide adjustment on Rolex DSSD.

Yes, I believe JLC is the best choice.
Do you know the price for JLC Diving Pro Geographic Navy Seal in Titanium and JLC Diving Pro Geographic Navy Seal in 18k Pink Rose Gold?

Thks.

Depends on where you get it and how much of a discount your AD will give you. On the gray market I've seen the Titanium version for between 15k -16k....the Rose gold considerably more at over 2x that amount. If you go for the Alarm version those are around the 10k mark with the Automatic slightly less.

You should be able to get an even better deal on a "Pre-loved" version if you can find one, but as these are relatively new models they will be difficult to find most likely.

Whichever way you decide, be sure to post some pics of the piece you get....the Alarm version is one of my personal grails.

I would buy a FF with steel bracelet.

I think it is the best high end diver watch.

Antimagnetic case, sapphire bezel, domed crystal, 5 days power reserve...
