Lume question
When does a watch start to loose it's lume? (sub in particular)
Can the lume be reapplied? If yes how is it done? Thanks |

We have a pretty good article on Tritium Lume over in the Reference Library..
Generally speaking, Tritium has a half life of ~12 years, so those dials made over a decade ago would have half of the excitement available to the phosphors in the paint matrix... this would make them very faint or not glow at all.... Rolex changed to Luminove in the 98/99 timeframe and those dials can be charged by a light source over and over 'til the cows come home........
