SS Bracelet irritation

ARe there any out there that ever had the bracelet slightly irritate their skin?
Read somewhere that the nickle content in the Rolex SS or other maker's SS can sometimes cause irritations.

There were a few posts here before where the bracelet causes redness / irritation.

From what I've learned from this forum was that Rolex has since lessened nickel contents of their watches where it can touch skin ie. caseback, bracelet etc.

Leopardprey, I think you need a good excuse for a gold baby......gold does not irritate. It does not take much to have a Rolex fan and lover find a good reason for another and new watch.

I do. But I get that from wearing any watch. I wear my watch 24 hrs a day. I usually get irritation on the bone part of my wrist. I am always scratching it.

Yes!!! after extended wear, always needed to give my wrist a breather so to speak with SS when it got to the stage it was irratating i just "had to" remove it for a hour or 2. I was always aware i was wearing it , unlike my gold daytona which i can wear 24/7 almost forgetting its on my wrist and indeed the same with a frugal SS watch i have

In the late 60's I had a bad reaction to the battery in an early Acquatron, broke out something awfull. Try loosening the band a bit for more air circulation.

If the bracelet is too tight and also dirty bacteria can and will build up underneath. Take the watch to your local "reputable" jeweler to have the bracelet removed, cleaned in an ultrasonic, and steam cleaned. You can then soak the bracelet in alcohol, rinse and steam again. This will usually help if it is bacteria related.

Reading that in hot humid environments, the salt in the sweat can help to release some of the nickel content. Seems Rolex with it's 904 SS has about a 25% nickel content, where as 316 SS used in most other watches has about a 10%. Still getting a little slight stingy feeling from the Rolex. If this is the case, may be selling my Rolexs and going back to Omega or another brand. WHen initially had my Rolexs I was always in a dry climate. Now living in a very humid sweaty climate. I know with my old OMega SMP, never has an issue and spent a lot of time with it living and working in very humid and sweaty Cambodia. This is upsetting me. Am not having a big rash or anything, but a little redness and tingly feeling is always there. Wearing very loose is not an option, as well just dangle around the wrsit - not good. And am not going to get a all Gold model (too expensive and do not like Gold, too bling for me). Talked with the RSC center today, they recommend bring them in for a cleaning, but do not know what that will do as already ahve tried cleaning them myself, and they will just get very sweaty again soon afterwards.

I have found that for almost any type of irritation alcohol is the miracle solution. Just rub some isopropyl on the spot, it will probably clear up. Larry.
