3 into 1 Goes .... an AP ROO Diver
Well, following some consolidation, I believe the technical term is "flipping", a little yellow van arrived unexpectedly early with my Diver.
What to say about it, other than wow! Its just on another planet, in terms of finish. I am utterly impressed, which is just as well, considering its the first time I laid eyes on one in the metal Pics to follow.... |

Thanks chaps.
Its so very comfortable, with a feeling of lightness - a very well balanced piece. Would have put my FF to shame in that respect. |

Congrats!
That is the ROO I think may make me break down and get one already. Great choice and can't wait to read your review and then see how it is in a few months ;) I know you LOVED the FF when you first got it. I don't know what it is but I really like dive watches with the inner rotating bezel, my IWC Ti Aquatimer has it as well and I just really like it!

Very true. The FF had killer looks - case, face, crystal, bezel, hands, numerals, all very slick. Just IMO, the movement really let it down. It was rather inaccurate, a little rough to wind and a bit hit 'n miss moving between winder positions. Maybe I had a poorly example?

The mini-review...
So what do I think, after owning my first grail for all of 3-days.
Well, not being the biggest fan of chrono's, I must say that the face is particularly pleasing to me. Clean, elegant and a little sporty - its nice Some of my thoughts: - I would have loved an AP logo on the face, rather than the Audemars Piguet script, but that can be something for the next one. - To wear, the rubber strap and case are very comfortable and nicely balanced. - Winding mechanism is super slick, particularly when moving between winder positions. - Maybe its coming from the Deepsea, but the watch doesn't feel overly tall. I also don't find the bezel as dominating, as on some ROO models. - Its running fast, but I don't seem to be obsessed by this (yet) All in all, I feel proud to have such a fine timepiece from AP. Their new chrono's are totally sick. IMO, I feel the Diver sits nicely alongside them in terms of design, which may make it a popular choice, compared to say the existing chrono's. I fear for the longevity of the 292 |

Congrats
I really really like it more and more each time I look at your pics and read your review. I do agree about the logo on the dial, never even noticed it till you mentioned it. Watch... They will change it next year and yours will become sold Holy Grail haha

Very, very nice. What size is your wrist? This or a AP 15300 are the only watches i currently lust after.

Never really looked at the hour hand before closely to be honest.
I like it! I really could see one of these ending up in my hands within the next year or two. Just too many irons in the fire at this moment to get into one but I really do think it would be a great watch for me!

There is only one AP AD in the DC Metro Area and I added myself to their call list when they get one in months ago. Still waiting. Really looking forward to seeing this one in person, but I fear for my vintage 1665 after I see this one...

It was flipped for another AP!
Had a choice of some pretty hot pieces from my AD, including a BNIB Survivor, also a Grand Prix in Forged Carbon I lost a fair bit of sleep contemplating and agonising over my decision, plus have worn out the Internet looking and reading all about them Fortunately for my wallet, its not either. I'll reveal all when DHL arrives, today or Monday! |

OK, just a small hint....
Its non-LE, yet still quite rare, with pretty much LE status I would say Can you guess what it is yet |
