Icon20 Please Help with Serial Numbers on 2011 Rolex

Hi All,
İ am interested in purchasing a new SS Daytona and i have been doing a lot of researching. Luckily i found a black daytona finally in an authorized dealer. İ checked the serial number and it starts with Z05P. İ asked if this Meant that the watch was made in 2002 because i read everywhere that V series were the latest. İ was told at the ad that there is no such rule, and the new numbering system is like this with two letters. should i believe ? Or are they just trying to sell me an old watch? İ also saw a white face daytona with a serial no starting with G but no second letter. What do you think ?

That watch is absolutely brand spanken' new....

Any serial with a letter anywhere but at the beginning is one of the very latest random numbers; it doesn't matter what letter or number it may start with... So are any that start with G...

Some random serials do start with a letter. The trick is that they're made up of 8 letters or numbers, whilst the older style serials have a letter at the front, followed by 6 numerals

Many Thanks Guys !

The watch has 8 digits that goes like Z05P and 4 numbers. i was worried especially after seeing the other white daytona to also have a G and 6 numbers, but i trust this forum more than the actual Rolex AD who seems to not know as much. İ Will go ahead and buy my first rolex tomorrow.

So you can assume the case was stamped sometime between 2010 and 2011.Now when the movement was made in the case well only Rolex knows that one.
