Time and Gems
Hey all,
I am about to pull the trigger on a piece I've found at Time and Gems. Someone please stop me if I am making a mistake!!! I've found very brief discussions here about them, but nothing definitive. depending on personal experiences, it seems that mostly emotion is involved behind these posts. All I want to know is, am I going to A: get a watch at all after I bank wire the funds and B: get the actual watch I ordered. The impression I get is that the people with not so good experiences didn't ask the right questions or read the descriptions carefully before ordering? I've tried here for months, but the midsize DJ i need just isn't coming up in sales. PLEASE STOP ME IF THERE'S ANY REASON I SHOULDN'T PROCEED!! Thanks so much in advance. |

Well, I made the Purchase Friday, and wired the funds yesterday. I will update this thread as the transaction progresses in an effort to help any future Time and Gems shoppers. Since It seems there is very little written about these guys in the forum, the least I can do after all your help is make an account of my experience for the next guy.
So far so good. Of course, now they have my money, so we'll see from here, but the initial shopping experience was pretty solid. My one gripe was that they seemed to consider it a hassle when I requested more detailed photos stating that the photos were a good representation of the watch and they'd have to get their photographer to come in and take more if I really wanted them. Which is exactly what I wanted, hence why I asked for them. Weird. Other than that though, all questions were answered promptly and courteously. No matter how annoying I was as a customer, there wasn't an ounce of frustration on the other end. Very patient with my picky questions. Hey, when you're spending this much online and it's not with DavidSW or any of the praised sellers here, we've got the right to be overly concerned. They worked with me on the price until I was happy, which I was to begin with as the prices are quite competitive, but no harm in working out some more $ off, and free shipping. Yesterday they received my wire transfer, and now I wait quite impatiently to see what arrives. I will let you know once the watch arrives and what kind of condition it's in. Thanks. |

So far, still very pleased. I have had the watch and the box/paperwork sent to 2 different addresses. They were both shipped yesterday, and the tracking numbers show that the watch will arrive in a couple of hours and the box will arrive tomorrow morning. The frustrating part is the watch has to sit there until I can pick it up Saturday!!! :'(

update:
I picked up the watch today. Looks great! Exactly as described. The bracelet has a bit more stretch in it than i was anticipating, but when someone tells me 80%, i don't really know how to gauge that anyhow. so it's probably fairly accurate. The stretch in the bracelet is something my wife will be less concerned with, but would bother me if it were my watch. I just need to have it authenticated and the transaction is finished. By the looks of it though, it seems Time and Gems has turned out to be a solid choice when you can't find the watch you're looking for here on TRF. The price was great, and the service while it didn't feel very personal, was courteous and quick. Final verdict after authentication! |

No problem!!
This forum has been has played a huge role in my first rolex purchace. It's the least I can do to help add to the wealth of information here that sculpted every decision I made along the way. Not to mention all the personal help and opinions from the dedicated members of this forum. Thanks TRF!!! |

Final Update:
Verified 100% Authentic!!!
Conclusion? Time and Gems is absolutely a worthy choice for your Rolex needs. Of course, if you can find what you want here on TRF, I'd purchase here first. However if you need to look elsewhere, try Time and Gems. Just make sure you read the description and ask all the right questions first. They've got nothing to hide, and all the information you need about the piece is readily available. They may give you hassle when asking for more detailed photos though... hahaha... that was weird. But it all worked out in the end. Thank you TRF for all your knowledgeable advice. Couldn't have done it with out you, and I assure you my wife will be very happy because of you all. |

I'm a newbie... just picked one up from them too a few days and I was very satisfied. But then again, I live in LA and they have an office in Downtown Jewelry District. They cracked open the caseback for me, took off the bracelet for serial and ID verification and came home with an AK DATE twotone. Very satisfied.
