It is interesting how the GV really has a tobacco coloured dial.
I had thought all along (years) that it was a black dial which looked brown under the green crystal and that brown look was the result of the green crystal itself.

If I had been told way back when that the true dial colour of the GV was tobacco I would have completely understood.

Strange how you can go for years under a misapprehension about something as simple as this when the evidence is right before your eyes.

I was examining it closely yesterday under different lighting/angles, and it really varies.... But it is definitely not matte black like, say, a transitional Sub. I think due to its texture, the light bounces off it differently under varying angles. Indoor, when looking on it straight-on, it appeared dark-grey, while outside it looked really dark brown/tobacco (it was sunny yesterday for a change). mysterious.... I'll try to take some closeups if the sun ever comes out again
