Question for the experts . . .

I bought a Z series 16613 with slate serti dial a few weeks ago from a well known forum member. The watch arrived as described with all accessories. I was looking at the markings tonight and noticed that neither of the end pieces on the SEL bracelet are stamped with "93253" nor stamped with anything at all? The clasp has the proper code and what appear to be the other proper markings. My question is should a Z series TT submariner have the bracelet code stamped on both end pieces? Thanks all in advance for any help- it is much appreciated.

By asking this question on an open forum, you must surely realise that you are doubting the sellers integrity. Why not ask him?

Actually that is not the case at all. I'm 100% certain about the seller. What I don't know is did he get taken and maybe flipped the watch to me without knowing?

This happens all the time out here with counterfeits being of unsurpassed quality.

Understand? Next time don't jump to conclusions Paulie about what other people "surely realize". Thanks

SELs don't have #'s, only the bracelet.

They could also be stamped on the inside of the link...in other words, the portion of the SEL that faces the case.

For my money you just did it again. You can't be "100%" and then simultaneously suggest that the seller maybe couldn't discern real from fake.

I do think this question should have been presented to your dealer, out of common courtesy. At least you could've asked it as a general information question on this thread, vs. explicitly linking it to a specific purchase.

You are missing what should be a very simple concept concerning integrity vs. inadvertent error, so let me spell it out for you: I am 100% certain about the seller's integrity; I was uncertain as to whether the seller could have been victimized when he picked up the watch and simply not realized it before selling it to me. Hopefully that clears it up for you.

Thanks everyone for the information. Most of you were very helpful in resolving things in my mind. It's great to have a forum like this where such a vast amount of information is readily available. Best,

Up until a few years ago, Rolex did stamp the last link on the bracelet.. It was a carry-over from the separate end-link days to ensure that you mated like parts..

Newer models do not have a stamp, it is stamped on the attached end-link at the end. You need to take the bracelet off to see it..

Older SEL... note the link stamp: (ignore the arrow.. that points to a nick I did not want polished out during a RSC refinish)

Recent SEL... note, no link stamp:
