West Los Angeles GTG
Hello Guys and Gals,
I wanted to gauge interest for a WLA GTG, tentatively in about 2-3 wks. Likely on a Sat eve around 6:30p. The proposed location would be at the historic Culver Hotel in Downtown Culver City (where the 405 and the 10 meet). It is a real cool venue with a great bar. Located in the heart of Downtown CC. Here's the link: http://www.culverhotel.com/ The chef is Micheal Compean and his food is quite amazing, IMHO. He has agreed to put together a special 4 course menu just for us. The cost for dinner will be $60 per person (not including drinks). Here's the proposed menu: CHEF AMUSE BOUCHE SMOKED SALMON BRUSCHETTA dill, crème fraiche, caper-shallot marmalade, sesame crostini DINNER MENU Bread Basket: ALPINE CHEESE ROLLS Smoked cheddar-bacon butter 1st Course: ROASTED CORN-CHICKEN CHOWDER micro cilantro 2nd course ORGANIC BOSTON LETTUCE SALAD Toasted walnuts, lady apples, green goddess dressing, maytag blue cheese, dried cranberries Entrée: KATAIFI WRAPPED CHILEAN SEABASS creamed spinach, heirloom cherry tomatoes, wild mushroom risotto, mascarpone, pesto Dessert BANANA STREUDEL Vanilla bean gelato, banana caramel, candied pecan, fig So, were looking at around the second weekend in April. There will be watch trivia (Rolex of course) and prizes. We will bring some wine and there's a full bar. After dinner we can transition to the bar at the Hotel (and sit by the fireplace) or walk to a handful of other local hot spots. Wives/GF are welcome. I will invite a couple of eligible West-side bachelorettes (They will be wearing WIS quality pieces) Post feedback/comments on this thread. PM me if you want me to put you on the list. I hope we can get enough interest to make this happen, and once we do, it would be real easy to make this a regular GTG. Aaron |

I will book a solid date ASAP. Just want to get the word out first. If we can get 5-10 confirmed it should be no problem.
Yes, I'm excited about the menu too. It is not set in stone yet, so if anyone is opposed to it, let me know. Their regular menu is awesome too. |

Aaron.....
Please let me know when you have a firm date, and also, if there could be perhaps a steak option, as my wife is allergic to seafood. We could always order direct from the regular menu, as another option as well. Thanks for the invite......We would love to come, if the date will not conflict with anything, so as soon as you have it firmed up, I will stand by for the date. Nathan

How does Saturday April 16th sound for everyone? Say 6pm? (unless the SD guys want to make it earlier).

Ok, we are CONFIRMED for Saturday, April, 16th at 6pm!!
Please add it to your calendars. We are adding some alternate menu choices for the fish allergic/adverse folks. I am going to try to put together a trivia game. Any suggestions on the format?? Aaron |

Aaron,
This sounds great, but funny as it sounds I am just taking one day at a time. I have some personal issues going on and can't commit. Have a great time and maybe I might be able to meet after the dinner...by the way, that menu sounds sooo gooooood!

No problem. I totally understand your situation. Two months ago I would not have had the mental energy to put this thing together. If you can swing by after dinner that's great. I'll PM you my cell #. A |
