Advice on Service before sale
I have a 6 year old Blue Two tone sub. Never serviced but it keeps nearly perfect time. Off about two seconds per day. I have to sell it for financial reasons and my question is, should I have it serviced first? Thanks, Nick

No. Let the new owner decide how and when to service. An RSC service is nice if you need to show that it is "all Rolex", but it tends not to increase your selling price to offset the service expense. The other risk is that your potential buyer may want an unpolished look.

If your not a well-known seller and if you don't have the original papers it may gave you more credibility to have Rolex service papers.

no. The watch will be away for months, therefore delaying your much needed funds, also, you could simply offer a 300 discount to prospective buyers to go towards a service.

Sounds like we all agree here. I would not have it serviced before selling either as I do not think you will get dollar for dollar more for the watch that the service will cost you IMHO.

I will have it lightly polished though if it were me.

Thanks for the advice and yes, I have all paperwork in pristine condition so I will not have it serviced and post it for sale. Thanks again, I have been a member here for a long time although not a big participant. I have owned a Rolex since 1982. Still have my original TT Datejust! Thanks to all for the advice.
