Newbie to the Forums
Hello All,
Obviously my first post here even though I've been lurking for a while and reading up on what I can. Currently, I own your basic 16610 Sub and, of course, I am quite happy with it. I think what persuaded me to buy a Rolex, and specifically a Submariner is their reputation for durability. I tend to use what I buy and wear my watches no matter where I go or what I do and, I must say, after a year, this watch has held up better than any others I've owned! Now, I'm on the hunt for matching TT Blue Sub. I've always liked the way they looked and expect they will hold up just as well as my current Sub. Besides, I need something with a bit of gold on it to match any cufflinks or other accessories I may wear that are gold or gold colored. :) I suppose a quick explanation of my username is also probably in order. I use this on all the other internet forums I frequent, mostly firearms related sites. It is an abbreviation of Mercedes-Benz SL, which is one of my other loves. Of course, I didn't realize this until later, but if you prounounce "MBSL" phoenetically, it comes out sounding like "imbecile." A little too late to change that and I don't mind a bit of a ribbing every now and then so I've stuck with it. Last edited by MBSL; 29 June 2007 at 05:10 PM.. SUPERLATIVE WELCOMING OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED The 16610 is THE classic of all classics in my opinion! And a Mercedes is like Rolex: Built to last! Did you know that the HOUR HAND of the Submariner Date goes under the name "Mercedes Hand" due to the Mercedes style of the hour hand?? I hope you get your TT "Bluesy" soon! When you do, please please post pics of it! We'd all love that!

Wow, thanks for the very warm welcome and reception!
Those are some beautiful pictures and, I hope to be able to post pics like that soon, albeit lower quality given my picture taking skills or lack thereof :) That is a neat little fact about the hour hand and Mercedes, one I'm sure to remember now. I should know in a couple of days if I have a deal sealed on TT Bluesy and will be sure to post details when it comes in. I must admit I do like the look of the slate Serti dial . . . so does that still count as being in the Blues club? |

If you buy the Serti, you are NO longer a "SERTIfied" member of the Bluesy Club
