I have the opportunity to part ex my 2008 Bell and Ross BR01 carbon chronograph watch with spare straps for a 2005 Rolex GMT coke bezel in excellent condition with all paper work from a reputable watch dealer...I am sorely tempted...but was thinking of the newer GMT when I had sold the bell and Ross but am very tempted as the coke bezel looks so damn good... What do you all think?

get the GMT and source the other inserts..... you will have a lot of fun with different looks...

I think the GMT Coke - as Eduardo implies - is so much more versatile...

I would do it.

For me, it's an easy choice. Get the GMT and add a bezel insert, or two.

If you originally wanted the GMTII-C, then a different watch will not quench your thirst. There is no hurry. Sell the B&R and then purchase the watch that you really want...in the long run you will be much happier.

Ahh.. if you leave in Venezuela, Newfoundland, Iran, India, SriLanka, Northern Territory, South Australia, Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island and Chatham Islands... you will have to play tricks with the jumping hand...

I love my ceramic GMT but would enjoy the versatility of the aluminum bezel choices.

Since the newer GMT crossed your mind, I'd say go for the ceramic. I believe it also has the better bracelet and clasp...I may be wrong...

The difference between the two GMTs is significant - Get the one you really want.

Having said that what you've been offered seems like a good trade and the 16710 is a great Rolex.

The danger here is you will be left still wanting the 2c...and that will bug you IMO.

I prefer my 16710 Pepsi over the newer GMT II-c. Yes, the new bracelet is better, the trip-lock crown, the bezel and........
