For all those whom are interested in watchmaking but are unable to enroll into an English speaking watchmaking course, I would like to introduce the Korpela and Hofs Watchmaking Competence Centre. The school website is http://www.khwcc.ch/. Most information can be found there.

Currently, the school is unable to accommodate students for the next 8 months because all bench places have been filled. However, 4 more benches have been ordered and due for delivery soon. The school programme is unlike other watchmaking school programmes. It has a basic modular system but it also operates in a mentor-apprentice manner. Therefore, unlike other watchmaking schools, KHWCC is able to provide very flexible course start dates based on student needs, subject to bench availability and teaching staff. Therefore, KHWCC does not specify a course start date. All interested applicants should submit their applications as soon as possible though and each applicant will be assessed on a first-come-first-served basis, subject to a bench test and interview. The school also operates on a non-profit basis as it is established by the Ulysse Nardin's Watch Foundation. However, even though they are supported by Ulysse Nardin, the course structure and content is fully independent. This essentially means that unlike other watchmaking schools which have to teach their courses based on sponsor's movements or products, at KHWCC, there is no such restriction. All aspects and major movements from different watchmaking brands and styles will be taught.
