Paul
I hope this below list offer is only for the good folks on TRF - I still think you could have your money back on the general market... I notice Blowers have one for sale at £3740 |

SOLD via a hi-fi forum, strangely enough.
Got my original purchase price back, thankfully.

I guess I got caught up in the whole Basel launch thing and ordered one in April.
In the meantime I acquired one of my "grail" watches for a very good price so it was down to ridding the 116710 or the 116718 ingot. There was no contest in the end.

Paul, out of interest what was the grail watch in question. I'll be getting the SS gmt soon myself, as someone who is obviously knowlegable on Rolex, what was your opinion of the quality of the SS? Thanks in advance for your help. All the best. Ian |

The SS is a superbly engineered watch though not quite as exquisitely finished as the 18ct version when compared closely. The 18ct models do get a little more human attention, but then they do charge an arm and a leg for them.

I was a bit naughty and slotted it onto the UK HFFS website headed with my Chord pre/power amps (sold a little while ago). It brought a great deal of enquiries and a commercial pilot made me a very good offer and is due here in the morning with some notes. The TRF and TURF sale forums were very slow in terms of interest.

Thanks so much for that Paul I really appreciate it. Your grail watch is perfect. Personally I have always thought the Daytona looked at it's best with the leather Band and I love the combo of the gold case and dial, very understated and stylish, good choice and wear it with great good health. Have not been to Wales for years, a lovely country I especially like Pembrokeshire. Thanks once again for taking the time to respond. All the best. Ian |
