Re: Next Watch For The Collection?

Hi,

I have a modest collection of a YM plat, 52' Omega (Fully restored by Omega - linen dial), Ltd Ed Tag and looking for another watch for the collection.

Looking for a care free watch that I can get wet, jump off the side of a boat, go swimming or surfing withand not worry so much about.

Part of me is thinking of either a Green Sub (because it's not the standard Sub and the Submariner is the original James Bond watch) or a Deep Sea (New Rolex tech, robust and something different). Or possibly an IWC Aquatimer.

And another part of me thinks I should just keep with the YM plat as an all purpose watch but get the seals checked every year. But is this not ideal.

Thoughts?

Cheers,
Tim.

Get the sub, you know your gonna do it anyway,

Some AD's in the UK have already put the prices up, if I was you I'd hunt first thing tomorrow to see if you can get at the lower price.

I don't really like surfing with my 16610, the clasp gets undone too easily. Maybe it's better on the Sub-C clasp though.

The IWC AqT is an interesting choice which I like as a water babe, but will it look just as cool in the bar once you've left the jetty. Go for something that's universally iconic but quirky. Go for the Sub C LV. I did two weeks ago and have not got bored once, questioned my sanity a few times but not got bored!

I like the IWC Aquatimer and I think it would be great to add another good brand to your collection. I have purchased 2 IWCs for my husband and he loves them.

G-Shock Tough Solar seems to fit the bill

if that "isnt good enough" - then a SS Sub of some sort should do it too

Great choices, you can't go wrong with any of them, the Green Sub looks to be the nicest choice in my opinion.

Here's my tuppence worth...

I think the Sub-C LV is too close in character to your YM.

They are both sports watches but a bit on the 'flash' side, not true tools. I think it's the adition of the precious metals in both of them that makes me feel that way...

If I was you I'd go for the Aquatimer to shake things up a bit!

Well, Aquatimer is perfect watch for your needs, very handsome watch, with amazing built quality.
However, I`m totally biased and I vote for Sub LV c, the watch that holds number one spot on my wish list!
