Forgotten Panerai?
I don't seem to hear much about the Panerai radiomir 287 black seal. I tried it on once and it felt nice and looked cool. A bit dressy but a nice fit and feel. I opted for a 297 but I'm just not feeling the size of the 44 Luminor. How easy to change straps on the 287? Thoughts anyone?

The Rad's take some getting used to on the strap changing. They'll never be as easy as a Lum, but once you get used to it, they are not that bad. It takes me twice as long to change a Rad strap compared to Lum, but I'm digging the Rad's more.
The 287 is an under appreciated Rad for sure.

That's true!!!
For me personally I don't like the date bubble in the sapphire. That's why I went with the 210. On the strap change, I think it's the same as any RAD you need the right size screwdriver 1.4mm and a steady sets of hands.

Pam's cyclop imho is a bad example of date magnification. It looks almost annoying to me.. And too bad since it is under the crystal, you cant remove it yourseld like you can on a Rolex.

I can't dig the date magnification. Almost a deal breaker for me.

I know what you mean. I've had Rolex's so far but weighing up whether to a Panerai as their look is so unique and different. The Rad's have taken my eye and looking at a 183 or 287. Think the rad's look cool

I'm a long time Rolex guy and the Panerais caught my eye. But I was not feeling the love for the Luminor case. You guys are so right about the date magnifier too. Unfortunately they don't have as many choices on the rads like the too the luminors. I was impressed with how the 45 mm of the rads was so comfortable and had good presence I thought. Not too large or overstated. Anybody got pics of the 287?
