Tension ring on a 5513 - supposed to be flat?
Hi,
I have a d 5513 with a stuck bezel. On getting the bezel off though, my local watchmaker (who doesn't seem to know very much about Rolex) observed that the flat metal ring underneath the bezel wasn't flat. Assuming this is the tension ring, does anyone know if this is supposed to be flat? Cheers! |

If it's bent up too bad to allow the bezel to lock into place, it should be replaced or flattened..

All Rolex tension springs are flat when new they get bent up when handled improperly, but can easily be made flat again. Rik

The tension spring in that watch is supposed to be slightly bent like a taco in order to keep the bezel from inadvertently rotating.
The only reason the bezel spring replacement is supplied from Rolex flat is to allow the watchmaker to adjust the bend properly for each individual bezel in order to get the tension right. |
