Hologram Sticker on "NEW" Watch

Just noticed an internet Rolex dealer advertising what is described and depicted as "the newest model", specifically a TT DJ TOG. In the narrative they say "Rolex hologram sticker still affixed to the caseback" and even include a picture of it. Pictures of the dial clearly show the inscribed ROLEXROLEXROLEX on the rehaut we have all grown to love (most of us anyway). I understand Rolex discontinued the sticker several years ago and thought the Rolex on the rehaut replaced it?? Is this just an oversight/misprint by the dealer? I won't identify him but others on TRF have noted this dealer to be very reputable. Not a big deal for me since I was not planning to do business....just wondering what's up here?

Actually yours is not an F series. F series do not have engraved rehaut. Yours is probably a random serial # which begins with an F and then is followed with seven random digits and or numbers.

Rolex did discontinue the green hologram sticker several years ago and started engraving the rehaut. This all started during the Z serial #. Rolex still uses the clear case back sticker, but no round green Rolex sticker. I have a Z4xxxxx serial with engraved rehaut, no round green Rolex sticker.

It is my understanding that Rolex made these changes as anti-counterfeiting measures. I believe they wanted to get away from any emphisis being put on the green Rolex case back sticker as indicating the watch as being authentic.

It was around 2004 Serial F/D on some models the Rolex Rolex Rolex on the Rehaut ring started and as the TOG is not a huge seller its possible it has the hologram.

Well, perhaps it could be something particular to the TOGs. Took a second look and this dealer has five similar TOGs, all advertised as the latest from Rolex. Of the five, only one did not mention and picture the green Rolex hologram sticker.

Another related question: Is the dealer providing any warranty paperwork? If they are providing Rolex documents, is it paper certificate or plastic card? This would also help to 'date' the watch.

Here's a copy of one of their ads. As you can see, it says the watch was produced circa 2009/2010. This is part of what prompted my original question because I thought the green hologram was discontinued well before that time. Not included here but included in the ad are several pictures of the watch, one of which clearly shows the sticker they refer to.

Rolex's NEWEST "Thunderbird Turn-O-Graph"!!!
Model No. 116261

Case Diameter: 36mm.
Circa 2009-2010 Production.
Thirty-One Jewels.
Handmade Swiss Automatic Swiss Movement.

The Rare and Beautiful Rolex "Turn-o-Graph" in Stainless Steel and 18K Rose Gold. This is a particularly rare model because it is trimmed in Rose Gold, with the Rose Gold Bezel and the Rose Gold links on the Oyster Bracelet. It is by all accounts the most beautiful stainless steel and gold model that the "Datejust" series has ever seen. This watch has all the bells and whistles of Rolex's newest models, including the heavier Rolex "Oyster" Concealed Clasp bracelet and the new style Rolex "Turn-O-Graph" bezel. If you live near an authorized Rolex dealer, you can examine one of these beautiful watches, but I'm certain that Capetown has the best value in the nation.

Factory Green Rolex Hologram Sticker still intact on Caseback.

Brand New, Unworn Conditon with Rolex Box, Warranty Papers, Booklets, Tags, and complete with ________'s Lifetime Warranty!!

Evidently this dealer is not providing the actual Rolex warranty but their own "Lifetime" warranty. So unfortunately you can't date the watch by differentiating the two Rolex style warranties, paper certificate vs plastic card.

In any case, the TOG Everose is a great watch, get one and enjoy it !!
