AP question about production?

does anyone know just how many of each model is produced each year by AP since the watches are made completely by hand with extreme detail?

There is a No xxxx engraved on the back but i'm not sure if thats the total number of that model produced to date or if thats the number produced for that series..

im also confused as AP doesn't change their series letter every year like rolex does.. I know they were making G series for a couple years and now they have released H series.

any info would be great.
i think now that the ROO's are being shipped with AP's in house movement, their production numbers may be a little lower than before at least for a little while.

Good questions. I know my AD is thinking about trying to get AP in their store, however he expressed a concern about availibility being a problem.

I think they make 25k watches per year and send 10% to the US. Not sure though.

10% to the US? seems very low considering the US market is huge.

Perhaps maybe. There are still so much places that love sweet watches! Hong Kong, Britain, Japan, Australia, even Malaysia.

The last figures I heard cited between 18-22K watches produced annually. I don't know how many of those are shipped to the US.

Interesting news.. It almost seems as if panerai might have larger production numbers at this point than audemars and panerais are all considered limited. Maybe that's why every where I have ever been, both panerai and audemars display cases at Ads seem slim pickings.

Does anyone know what panerais annual production numbers are?

I believe the number is around 20K and up. which is quite big considering how AP is always positioned as a family-controlled enterprise with strictest quality control.

I hope they don't be expand too quickly, and become a victim of their own popularity.

Second that. They can concentrate on improving the quality but better not to expand the supply.

+2

The level of their service is to die for... they are great to deal with when it comes time for a service. But they charge you for it up the WA-ZOO

i'm sure like with every brand, over time production numbers always get bigger. Like panerai, instead of increasing a particular models production in higher numbers, they just come out with more models, but keep production low on the models them selves.. it's a smart move on their part..

but Finding a local AP dealer is hard to find almost like panerai.. There is only one panerai dealer in Michigan and only one AP dealer in Michigan..
