Going price for 1981 Subs, GMTs, Explorers
Hi guys,
I am not ready to pull the trigger just yet but my grail within the next little while is to acquire a 1981 sub, GMT or Explorer (and once I have one, I am unlikely to stop). I have seen Springer's GMT for sale for $4,600 which I think is a good deal (wish I had the money now). How much should I expect to be spending on my grail? Yes, I realise it is dependent upon condition, box, papers etc. Thanks for the assistance. |

IMHO spend as much as you feel comfortable with. The watch you looking for is a 30 year old watch and the price is usually set by the market supply/demand. Happy Hunting

Welcome.
You can get a general idea for where the market is at for the watch you're looking for by searching completed listings on eBay in an advanced search (ones that actually sold). You can also search in the 'For Sale - Watches etc.' section on this forum, usually the seller will update the post if the item has sold. It helps to search the model number (1680, 16800, 1675, etc.), and know the serial number range you're looking for ('81 should be 7MM - ~7.34MM http://www.qualitytyme.net/pages/numbers.html) Good luck. |
