I don't get the NATO personally. I like the leather straps on dress watch. Looks classy.

I like the look of watches on straps, but I personally like to wear bracelets.

I like the way bracelets look, too.

Vintage Subs look great on Croc Straps (black or brown) but newer models suit the Oyster best.

Straps all the way for me on my older watches. But I must admit I do really prefer and enjoy the bracelet on my new TT GMTIIC. Really substantial weighty feel to it and also extremely comfortable. The extra half extention link is fantastic for those scorching summer days we get over here I've also got a blue face Airking from 1988 and Sub 16610 from 2002 which I prefer on their bracelets.

The first one is ostrich leather, the second alligator and third croc.

What can I say?

There's nothing wrong with a leather strap but I just my oyster bracelet!

You guys like a Rolex on a NATO but not on a good leather strap. I don't get it.

You and me both. I think NATO makes it look like a toy or too much like G-shock

I am completely the other way round with Panerai or JLC - the design of the watches seems to lend itself to a strap rather than (or as well as) a bracelet.

Lets see that new WG Daytona on a NATO :r ofl:

Sorry I could not resist but I agree with you completely. Rolex I just love on the bracelets but Panerai are screaming for multiple different straps

I love Rolex on strap!

Here is several with my custom made end links: ( and you do not have to pay for the gold watch in order to have a finished look with the leather strap)

Probably bacause i don't change things on my watch and all of mine came with bracelet. Also I like bracelet on my Rolex more, it makes the watch complete and more substantial.

For example i might not have bough the sub if it only comes in a leather stap. It changes the whole style and look of the watch.

Imo the datejust or daydate is nice on a strap, for the sportsmodels I would only use the bracelet (and I hate nato)

The one thing I can think of that is an advantage with strap is that you don't get scratches on them like you do with bracelet.

Guys

I think Hirsch make a strap which fits the curve of the case thus filling the gap often seen with straps on Rolex watches that dont use end pieces. I have seen pics somewhere on TRF.

Edit

Here is the strap Hirsch Medici 20mm

Without getting into the whole dress watch debate, I think most Rolexes that have fluted bezels (Sorry Dr. Robert!!!) look nicer on bracelets. The older Oysters with smooth bezels, Air Kings, and Explorer 1 look nice on straps. I have a 6424 Oyster that's on a brown croc strap and it looks great for semi-casual. My dress watches are all on brown or black straps and consist of Hamiltons, IWC, Bulovas, and Omegas.

Splendid combo, are those Eugene's links I spy? I think the Daytona suits the leather well

Maybe the title of this thread should read "bracelets AND straps". Why limit yourself?

I like having a number of options. Bracelets, Leather Straps, and Nato. I already have a number of other watches on leather straps already. So I guess as far as my Rolex watches go so far I have not had the need or desire to wear any of them on a leather strap.
