Newbie question: Bracelet stretch?

Hi all,
I'm saving my pennies for a used Sumariner for my 40th birthday. Until then I have some newbie questions. I've tried the search function on this one but can't find the answer.
Many sellers advertise their watches with "little bracelet stretch". What does that mean? Is the Rolex metal bracelet soft and falls appart over time? I know everything gets looser with use, but with with none of my cheapie watches I owned I've ever noticed a bracelet stretch...

Thanks in advance!
Herb

The bracelets don't really stretch (except in extreme cases). It's simply become a way to reference any wear and loosness in the bracelet..

Ahh! That makes sense... I started to picture a foot long bracelet or something

Like Larry said metal cannot stretch its the dirt grit from daily wearing that gets between the pins and bracelet holes and elongate the pin holes. But as long as you keep the bracelets clean with plain soap and water, oyster type bracelets will last 30 odd years. Now while the jubilee bracelet is quite robust that one is more prone to wear over the years. But keep clean and wear bracelets snug fitting should not be any problems.
