Rolex Day Date Hollow Links
Hey everyone I was wondering what year Rolex changed the Day Date with a president band to solid center links. Any facts would be great

New president bracelet came out with the new "6 digits" daydate references (118xxx) in 2000 (P series).
In 2003, the new clasp was added (around F series). The new (actual in fact) Presidents are much heavier than the old ones (8385) due to the SEL endlinks and solid links, and are less prone to stretch... |

I thought president links have always been solid and the change was in the oyster bracelet links offered with the DD starting in 2000. I do know my 18238 X series had SELs so it was not that.

My 18238 (A series - 1999) does not have SELs and so does all 18238 in my understanding... Did your 18238 had its original bracelet ? Maybe it's possible to fit a new-style President with solid links and SELs on it... ? |
