Uneven Lume
Hey Everyone. I just received my pre-loved 14060m non COSC submariner today and I am thrilled with it I can't wait to post some pics when I get home. There is just one concern I have though. When I look closely at the lume triangle at the top and the rectangles at 3 6 and 9, it seems like there are some spots on the Lume that are uneven. I know it's hard to describe without pics but I mean that there is some parts of the Lume that appear slightly greyed and darker than the rest of the Lume. Also, this watch received an RSC service just a few months ago. I really hope this isn't a sign of anything and I'm sure nothing should be weird since it just had an RSC service. Also, the Lume looks a bit sloppy upon close inspection at the 12'oclock. Is this something that is uncommon? Please respond, I would like to know if anyone else has noticed this. Thanks,
Justin |

This is very common so put the watch on your wrist and enjoy wearing it.

I have yet to see a Rolex diver with perfectly even Lume. Every one I've seen shows slight color variations, like subtle shadows within the white lumed area. Some are better than others but they all seem to have this to some degree of you look closely. I think it's just the nature of Lume drying and settling a little as it cures.
Here's a test. Hit the dial with a strong light for 20 seconds, go into a pitch black room, if you can easily see all the markers and the hands, it's fine. |

For me this is a defect. However, it is not uncommon. I've seen some pictures that the lume looks fine but I cannot tell if it is really fine or it is just unnoticeable from the pictures.

It is fine in that case. However, I don't need any loupe. Mine can be seen with naked eyes. Rolex should make it better if they increase the price again and again. They should improve the quality as well.

As mentioned above this is very common, I would not worry about it one bit. Congrats on the new beauty, looking forward to some pics when you arrive home

Ok, I have one more little thing that I need to get off my mind before I sign off. I know I should just stop thinking and enjoy it but I am OCD about this. So I noticed that right in the center of the dial where the hands are, the dial seems to cave inwards. I can tell because I can see a light ring around the hands in most lighting conditions. Please just tell me this is also normal so I can sit back and enjoy my watch. Thanks!
