Here's an AD story...
I posted on here a while ago about how cool my AD was. I had bought my daughter a Bluesy (me a TT ceramic and the wife a non-date) and it had started to stop. He was really good about it and immediately had his watchmaker go over it, offering an exchange, money back or whatever we preferred. Well, after it was worked on, it still played up (a 2005 used example, by the way). He suggested we went on holiday (we were off to NYC) and that we could drop it in when we returned so he could swap the movement for a brand new one. So, we duly did this only for Rolex to mess him around this past couple of weeks. I dropped him an email this morning and he agrees that we should be unhappy and actually agreed with my joke about it maybe being a Franklenwatch. It isn't (i don't think...), but he agreed that we should just get a refund and start again. He's invited us in next week and I know that if there is something in the shop that she likes, he will do what he can to make it affordable or within range of the full refund.
I think he's a great guy and a superb AD. So, we have money to play with and need a new or used watch. She has an eye for gold (will have to be TT, though) and I am nudging these watches at her: Sub C Bluesy LV Anniversay Pepsi Sub ND I think if we could find an unworn Pepsi, she'd be all over it. I am definitely going to be watching the For Sale section hard for the right watch. I am keen to buy from the States as the prices are veryt competitive...but can I get around import duty? Cheers, Michael. |

Glad to hear that your AD did the right thing and you were able to get a refund. Good luck with your hunt.

It's always nice to hear the good AD stories as there are so many negative ones floating around. It's a mechanical watch after all and can just be a bad movement. Glad to hear they are working to make you a satisfied customer.

She's after a replacement 16613, black or blue. But thanks for the contacts and offers. I am off out on the hunt right now!
