The watch is an average well worn possible 18038 single quick set day date.It will need a service and if your going to resell it I do not recommend doing anything to it and selling it as is. The bracelet if not usable or for worse case scenario will melt at around $2500-$2700 (today's gold prices) depending on if all links are there. These heads sell wholesale for $2500-$3000 in this as is condition. This puts a wholesale scrap etc floor on this watch at around $5000. Any normal dealer will gladly give ($4500-$5000) you this if the watch is working or not in a few seconds. I will if your interested. In good serviced condition they sell for $6200 and up depending on every aspect of the watch.(case, dial, hands, bracelet papers and so on.)

Clarification, the deceased was my friend. He left 3 daughters with 2 grandsons, none seem interested or can afford it but we all must bid on items we want, not to say they won’t bid but to date none have expressed interest. Knowing what a good friend he was to me and my family at least 1 daughter hopes I end up with the watch. I appreciate all of your input. I know better understand the risks involved. The guns are just some of many items I am bidding on including a car, watch and other art. To smooth out my valuations I may submit a lump sum bid for all in case some bids are to high/low.
