Well I have been giving much thought recently and asking for advice about other models that I like. Some great people on this forum have offered some good advice and it is much appreciated. I had been thinking about flipping my LV for a GMT or the TT Black Sub. I still want one of those two models, HOWEVER, I'm leaning toward keeping the LV as it was my first Rolex. What a great feeling it was walking out of the AD after my first Rolex purchase. I'll always associate that day with my LV. Perhaps it will be best to keep it and work hard and save for my next one. I don't think I'd be able to buy what I am looking for right now if I lose money on this. I really fear seller's remorse in this case. One can always buy more watches and another of the same model, but you can never get your first Rolex back if you sell it. They say you'll always remember your first (still talking about watches, I think

) Now, if the right deal were to come along.........

I would agree with you, Michael. I could never part with my first Rolex even though it was a previously worn one. It was a beautiful watch to me then and it still is (despite the fact that it doesn't get all that much wrist time). It has too much meaning for me to ever sell it. For one thing, I could never duplicate it.

Here it is.

I've never seen another like it and it's all original.

Dude! No. Do not sell your LV. You will regret it. Trust me. I went through this same thought process recently, with my LV. I'm over it. Don't sell your LV! Please...

Michael, I'll have to agree with you here. There are some things in life that are "special" and a first real watch is one of those times. Hate to be "Rambo" here, but I feel the same way about my 1st handgun. While I don't really care to shoot a Glock, well, a G23 was my 1st handgun purchase at age 21 and it is one I will always keep. My GMT is my first Rolex, and while there are others I'd like to one day own, I'll just wait for that one day and enjoy my GMT daily, until that "one day" comes when it's time for another.

Keep it, and be happy with what you have. Remember, there are some out there who'd just die to be able to own a G-Shock.

I am totally glad you made the decision to keep your LV!! Usually your first watch has the most sentimental value to it compared to all the other watches that you will own after it. There is just that very special feeling that always comes with doing a "first" with anything, in this case buying a Rolex.

You can always purchase the TT Black Sub or GMT eventually, as there is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with owning more than one Rolex. In fact, I recommend that everyone should own more than one watch just to always see what else a great brand like Rolex has to offer.

Between the LV, GMT and TT Sub black, I'll ditch the GMT, but then I'm more into dive watches.

You are bound to take a hit on the price selling watches so new.

I would have liked to have kept my first Rolex (a 16234) bought in London, but it has been flipped long ago

Also I would really have liked to have my Sub Date again that I flipped at Portobello Road in London (for a 5513). It was such a nice Sub with the open "6" and "9" figures on the date wheel

That is the Sub Date 16610LV.

LV stands for "Lunette Verte": Green bezel.

It was made as an "Anniversary" Sub in 2003 to commemorate the 50th. year after the introduction of the first Submariner in 1953.
