1520 skips during winding
Need more help please...
I just bought a 5513 with 1520 in it. The seller had a stem out when he brought the watch to show me. Lucky for me I had some a screwdriver to put it back in. After I checked out the watch we moved on with transaction. Later in the car I was winding the watch and every 15th or so turn it feels like it skips or like a spring is unwinding. It feels like one of those winding toys. When you wind it hard and then let go, The spring just unwinds instantly. I am not sure what it is, but seller assured me that it's just a position of the stem and this could be fixed by adjusting the stem. I am very new to watches. Can someone help? I am worried that the repair might be very expensive. Regards, Gena |

The click spring for the mainspring is either sticky or missing possibly winding pinion or ratchet has some broken teeth it could be many things. If the stem goes in and is set there is no adjustment it either works or it doesn't. If you need it looked at send it down. Rikki

Hi Rikki,
Thanks for you help. Are the parts easy to find for this movement? What would be your estimate for this type of repair? Regards, Gena |
