SEL on watch with case holes
I just saw this on ebay, is this the real deal. I was always under the impression that Rolex did not make a bracelet with SEL that fit a watch case with lug holes. Would love to put a SEL bracelet on my 14060M, but all that I've read says this is not possible. Please someone set me straight.

I am not sure when it began or ended, but my K series has SEL's and lug holes. I believe the K series was made around 2001-2002 so the watch in the ebay add is accurate.

Rolex had SEL with lug holes for a brief period in the early '00s for the 16610 Sub Date and the 16710 GMT-Master. Possibly others, but never the 14060 Sub. Some people have modded SEL bracelets by grinding down parts for the Sub.

Agreed.... Buy from an ad or trusted seller and though there are some good sellers on the bay a rolex is not an item I would consider purchasing their.
Good luck

I have a 1993 Sub Date it was supplied with a 93150 bracelet and lug holes. At the start off the year I found a New 93250 for sale and purchased it I can confirm it was a straight swap ,
The new Bracelet cost £550 and I managed to sell the old one for £400 to a guy who had a old Sub fitted with a GMT bracelet he was going to have the bracelet and watch serviced by RSC so didn't mind all the scratches . So in my experiance with lug holes on 16610 it works fine. |

There are a lot of naysayers on TRF when it comes to buying Rolexes on the big auction site, but I would venture to guess that a good many TRFers regularly peruse eBay for deals just like they do on our FS section. In fact, I have seen very well known sellers on this site run an auction on eBay at the same time that they have it listed on TRF. Believe it or not, the auction site has also supplied a lot of the watches we have seen in the FS section. I know this for a fact. Having a good amount of experience on eBay in general allows one to more effectively "buy the seller" and pull the trigger on a sweet deal or two now and again. The ones who don't like the idea of picking up a Rolex on eBay are often simply not experienced enough with buying and selling on the site, which can be a great resource, especially now with protection programs for both buyers and sellers
Moral of the story: "buy the seller," get all your questions answered, and make sure they have a return policy. After all, you are potentially sending thousands of dollars far away to someone you have never met for something you have never seen in person. Go with your gut feeling, and if anything doesn't feel quite right, pass on it. |

My Y SN sub date has lug holes, SEL AND the lazer etched crystal.
Not that it means anything to anyone but me, but I think it is pretty cool. Lug holes and SEL are fairly rare. it will not add value per se, but still cool from a transitional perspective. |

I was not going to purchase a Rolex on ebay. I was looking at a bracelet link and came across this. I have always liked the SEL. So are we saying that a 93250 would fit on A Rolex 14060M. I also understand that the divers’ extension is better built then on the 93150. Are not all submariner watches with lug holes located in the same position on the case.
Thanks John |

Can anyone confirm that the SEL braclet from a 16610 Submariner which I believe is the 93250 will fit on a 14060M Submariner No date. Is the case for the 16610 and 14060 not the same case.
Thanks John |

Nope. It will not fit. Please search on this as you cannot put SEL on the 14060 without a significant project.

I was able to get SEL bracelet with my E SN GMT II with lug holes I purchased a couple months ago. They did a bracelet swap for me.

Cases that will fit an SEL have a lip machined between the lugs to locate the backside lip of the bracelet. The 14060 has never been manufactured with the machined lip.. Also, the 14060M and the 16610 are completely different watches - almost no parts interchange.. (it's not just a Sub date without the date)
