Watch Winder Recommendations

I have a few watches I wear in rotation but my current watch winder can hold only 2. Should I invest in a watch winder with 4 (one for my wife) or another winder with 2 watch holders?

Also, the one I have is decent but is there any winders you would recommend? Is there a difference in quality and if so what brand / seller can you recommend for the best price? Thanks.

Well, I have Wolf 2.7, 2 watch winder. I like it.

Currently Wolf is having a 50% off sale if you use their website and have the appropriate coupon code. In fact, I just order another double today.

I like the 2.7 model because it's fully adjustable with TPD between 300 and 1200 in 50 TPD increments. It also sleeps for 18 hours after running through the TPD sequence, which I like. What I also like is that each watch is programmed individually. I had my Navitimer running a few minutes slow each week and increased the TPD by 50 and it's running spot on right now.

If bought through their site or at an AD you get a two year warranty. I have read some reviews where people said they did not last all that long, a year or two in some cases. I have only had mine for 60 days.

I think I would get a separate one-better in case one breaks down ( I have heard of some failures with Wolf winders).

I have a winder and never use it.
I keep my watches in our safe when I am not wearing them so in order for me to use it I have to leave my watches out in plain sight.
I guess I cut run power into the safe somehow but that seems like a royal pain in the a$$.

I have a Brookstone quad watch winder. for $199 you can't beat it. You can buy a Brookstone Double winder for $149. Multiple TPD settings, very roomy, extremely quiet, and doesn't have the cheap motors that will break down. I've had em for two years and not one single issue.

There is absolutely a difference in quality. Most of the no-name winders are overly dressed up junk, and usually don't last too long.

The smart answer is to get an Orbita. They stand behind all their products, and once you buy one, you're set. But, they're really expensive. And I mean REALLY.

Personally, I opted for a Wolf Winder, after reading many reviews on line. I have the 8 watch model. It works great, it's programmable, and it's well built.

I like Wolf. The program is unique where it winds for 6 hours and then lets the spring run down for 18 .. repeat. Better than slowly winding over 24 hours.

Also I had one that was a little noisy. Wolf replaced it no questions asked. No receipt, no paperwork, nothing. I think I got it on ebay.

The Wolf is very quiet, better than any except maybe some very high end winders.

I have 2 Burlwood doubles and love them. BUT, get the 2.7, it's the most programmable, but what I really like is that it operates in cycles for 6 hours and then sleeps for 18 hours. I think that is healthier for the watch.

I have an orbita and couldn't be happier with it. It winds four watches and has a drawer to store 8 more. It can operate with a cord or batteries if I have to put it in my safe. And it's a beautiful piece of furniture.

I've owned Rolexes for years but never had a single winder. Just like Matt I just put them in the safe and wind it when use. Any downside to the machine if watches sit idle for a month or so? Thanks guys!

I think that's about right regarding Rolex. I only use winders for complicated watches which would be a PITA to re-set. Also re-setting them would be an eventual disincentive to them getting any wrist time.

The Beco winders I have do a good job so far. They are quiet, which is a consideration at night. I have seen some very noisy winders.

You already have two of the finest watch winders known to man they are called wrists.Its not a problem to let a watch stop and rest,then just rewind set it must take all of 30 seconds to do.That will do more good than stuck on a winder by given the crown winding mechanism a bit of exercise and stops many crown related problems from lack of use.No Rolex Oyster watch needs any sort of watch winder except the one it was designed for your own wrist.And many watchwinders today have very good outsides but very cheaply produced insides. Save your money toward perhaps a new watch or take the wife or girlfriend out for a nice meal to get some brownie points against your next watch .

got myself a shiny rosewood winder from ebay a few years back, runs well & came with a spare motor too plus i grabbed myself one of the Rolex winders at a great price (cheers Johny ) plus worth mentioning that SwissKubik who make the Rolex winder have excellent aftersales
