Ebay has a fake detecting program operated by members
It's my best friend's birthday today and we met up for a light lunch , he is working and can't allow himself to get plastered today . This will be rectified coming weekend .
To the point : Earlier today I replied on a thread dealing with who had been scammed on Ebay before . I have been many years ago , but with having replied to the thread the matter was on my mind . My friend's wife works for Paypal fraud department HQ in Luxembourg and during lunch the conversation got to her work and from there to Ebay as the companies and others are linked . I mention this Forum's the fakes on Ebay spotting section and she explains that that Ebay relies on a special and secret group of Ebay members to report fakes and other frauds listed on their website and this on a Pro Deo basis to avoid excessive reporting and conflicts of interest . She mentioned some numbers as to the value .. staggering ! Must say that this revelation hasn't boosted my confidence in Ebay |

I keep eBay's fake/replica reporting page bookmarked for quick access. I've used it at least 25 times over the past few years.

Ebay sells more Rolex watches than any body/store in the world. If you don't want to play in the world's biggest market just don't go there. There are scammers right here on this forum, and on every corner of every street in every city in the world.
Due diligence and get over it! |

Another top notch post from Skywag.
I hope you can back up your claim and name a scammer on this Forum.

As you point out Ebay sells more Rolex's and what you have it then anyone else and are making billions out of it and therefor I would have thought that they would employ full time experts to secure their market place and not rely on their members to police the listing . |

Not to stir the pot because I love it on this forum and I am a seller and a buyer but I think robrobin had an issue with someone scamming him here or trying to just recently...People will join with bad intentions but we are a close knit community and try to get rid of them in a hurry.

I don't care what anyone says, when the time comes for me to pull the trigger, it will be with someone HERE, like Gregg(Mosco), Tony(justrolexes), David(SW) or Steve M. There are PLENTY of honest sellers here that can get you just about anything you want at a very reasonable price. Stay here long enough and you will see for yourself!

This is my first day here and I stum into this topic.
I am seller and buyer on eBay but in high-end purses not watches. Just like Rolex, There are so many Counterfeit/ Fake Chanel and Louis Vuitton purses on eBay. I try to report to eBay but they rarely remove any listing, maybe 1 out of 50 or 100... Anyway, for Purse, we have The Purse Forum to help buyers authenticate. I bet I can have rolex authenticated here by TRF members. So my point is bad people are everywhere but if we do out homework, we should be fine :) |
