Dinglish

Dinglish is Dutch English.

Most Dutch pride themselves for the way they master foreign languages, especially English. But actually, we shouldn’t because one of the worse things we can do, and will do, is to translate Dutch sentences into English, literally. And this will produce, among others, the following screamers:

I always get my sin (I always get my way. Zin is the Dutch word for way in this context and sounds like sin).
How do you do, and how do you do your wife? (How do you do, and how’s your wife doing?).
Can I put my as here? (Can I put my ashes here? As is Dutch for ashes).
I fell with my nose in the butter! (Cannot literally be translated in English, it is a Dutch saying meaning you got a very good deal).
I hate you hardly welcome (Figure this one out yourselves).
Waiter, the wine is up (Waiter, we’re out of wine. Op is Dutch for up but describes something completely different; e.g. I put up the painting)
We are a country of undertakers (We are a country of entrepreneurs. To undertake, is what the speaker thought he had to use, hence undertakers).

Goldmember: I shink hesh having ishyews wish hiz faz-sha

Goldmember: "Oh, yesh, yesh, yesh, yesh, yesh, yesh, dish ish a keeper. Oh, yesh."
Dr. Evil: "Ah right, you're not gonna put that skin in your mouth are you?

Hey, in Canada you can get a doctor to write a prescription for it (seriously). And the government actually grows it for such medicinal purposes.

There was a story in the news a while back about a guy who got busted for possession. Turns out he does have a legit prescription for weed, but he went to get it from an illegal source because he complained that the government grown weed was of poor quality.
