Icon5 discolored date wheel 16613

looking round a AD the other day they had some pre owned Subs, the 16613 had a almost nicotine stain to the date wheel, as if it had been in contact with something rust like,

asked the dealer about it he said it was normal i raised my suspicious eye and hummed, then i raised my disbelieving eye and hummed again,

2003, boxed and doc'ed 16613 in good condition but the date wheel should be white,

am i right????? should it be white it's only 8 years old just a pup

it starts life creamy gold in colour , white would look too stark on a golden watch.

Hi it was way past Patina, smudge nicotine patchy is the best i can describe, just didn't fit with the watch,

in fact i would go as far as to say some water damage, there was no Patina on the face, the two did not match.

the face was as clean as a whistle with this odd date wheel.???

it was way past soft cream,

Mark

A 16613 should have a cream-coloured date ring! Definitely shouldn`t be white. What you've seen sounds correct to me.

This is the correct color! I thought the same thing on the first used 16613 I bought... It's very far from white, but correct. This is not patina, just the correct color as when new!
