Are you looking for a "use through" cover (never removed) or a "case/cover" (opened or removed for use).

Here http://www.zenuscaseusa.com/Galaxy-S...Rank=salesrank

I have this http://www.zenuscaseusa.com/ZENUS-Ga...Rank=salesrank in black leather. It retains the slimness of the phone, provides friction to hold the phone securely in your hands and protects the screen as well. Highly recommended.

Otterbox will certainly protect the phone, i tried one on my iPhone but found it made the phone ugly & bulky plus the rubber outer prevents the phone slipping in & out of your pocket, i now use Zagg Invisible shield on the phone which prevents scratches, gives a lifetime guarantee & doesn't hide your phone in ugly plastic.

you meant you are happy to use something many companies are playing "catching up game" with?

there is no deny that Android was created to compete against the iSO & App Store
