Reputable Rolex Repair

Hi,

I have an Oyster Perpetual that must be atleast 45 years old. Its been sitting unused for the last 15 years and is in need of repair as it is running very fast.

Can anyone recommend a repair shop in Vancouver, Canada or would you suggest I contact Rolex Canada in Toronto?

Thanks in advance, Nima.

Nima,

Welcome

I can't recommend a reputable watchmaker for you, sorry.,

What I will say is if you have an older automatic watch (and you do), that has not been serviced in a long time, and it is starting to run fast; that is a sign it may be about to fail.

Tolerances are loose, there is no oil to produce a damping affect, and everything is flailing about wildly inside......complete failure is close at hand.

Rolex Canada might not service your vintage piece....I'm sure there are many good watchmakers in your area..

Actually Rolex Canada is pretty good about servicing older watches. Toronto RSC recently confirmed that they have access to all the parts needed to overhaul Nancy's 1960 or so vintage, and would be more than happy to take my money.

That is truly good news....I wish the USA Service Centers were as accommodating.

That's also a fine specimen that Nancy has..

Hi Nima,

Welcome to TRF! I suggest you bring it over to Montecristo in Oakridge, they can send your watch to RSC Toronto if it's necessary. Post pictures if you can.

Sounds pretty good! I'd make sure your watch gets to the RSC one way or another...it may be pricey, but it'll be a top-notch repair!
